What's a Ticket?

We define a ticket as work dispatched from the office to be completed in the field. Each organization has their own lingo—you name it—a Utility Locate Request, 811 Ticket, Work Order, Service Order, Service Request—they are all similarly managed and processed in BlueReview.

  1. Calculations based on the following information provided by you: field personnel; tickets typically processed per field person per day; maximum ticket distance of miles from office; and tickets processed per typical trip to office.
  2. The distance from each ticket to a central office is estimated as half the maximum distance provided; an average round trip from the field to the office is therefore equal to the maximum distance. However, because travel between tickets is still required, only the trip in to the office is counted for trip calculations. The distance between tickets is conservatively approximated as half the average distance, since field personnel are likely to move to nearby tickets instead of opposite ends of the area.
  3. A minimum of one roundtrip visit per day is assumed both with BlueReview and without BlueReview.
  4. Cellular and mobile data plans and associated costs not included.
  5. Costs with BlueReview include the standard $5,000 annual subscription price. One-time set-up fee, one-time partner integration fee, and other fees for software customization not included.
  6. Labor hours based on a 5-day work week, 52 weeks per year.
  7. Labor costs are based on customer research and include: monitoring incoming faxes/emails; sorting, copying, assignment, and distribution of tickets; attaching photos and documentation, filing, and final ticket disposition; and providing customer service (ticket response). The traditional ticket management tasks described above are estimated to be 20 min./day.
  8. Vehicle maintenance/gas is estimated at $.55/mile in accordance with the IRS 2014 Standard Mileage Rate.
  9. Average vehicle speed estimated at 30mph.
  10. Office and field personnel labor costs estimated at $20/hr. including wages, benefits, and taxes.
